Then the glory of the God of Israel rose from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. I saw another angel ascending from the east, with the seal of the living God. And he called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: And He called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side. “Do not harm the land or sea or trees until we have sealed the foreheads of the servants of our God.” “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem,” said the LORD, “and put a mark on the foreheads of the men sighing and groaning over all the abominations committed there. Sing to God! Sing praises to His name. Exalt Him who rides on the clouds—His name is the LORD—and rejoice before Him. A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in His holy habitation. God settles the lonely in families; He leads the prisoners out to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land. Then I heard the number of those who were sealed, 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there. Let us not neglect meeting together, and let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching. If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains, and as I listened, He said to the others, “Follow him through the city and start killing; do not show pity or spare anyone!
