[Abortion] - Emotional problems after abortion

In the recent time there has been war against and for abortion in the US. Through series of posts we will be finding information and knowing - hearing real life experiences - comforting each other and strive to know the real issues behind abortion. In the last post we saw what are some of the reasons for abortion.

Today we can think about what are some of the emotional problems that women go through during and after abortion. I am quiet shocked to find some of the emotional pain that women go through. I read 3 of the following articles.

  1. https://americanpregnancy.org/unplanned-pregnancy/abortion-emotional-effects/

  2. The Very Real Emotional Effects of Abortion - Facts You Need {Part 2} - Advice & Aid

  3. http://afterabortion.org/2011/abortion-risks-a-list-of-major-psychological-complications-related-to-abortion/

In a study of post-abortion patients only 8 weeks after their abortion, researchers found that 44% complained of nervous disorders, 36% had experienced sleep disturbances, 31% had regrets about their decision, and 11% had been prescribed psychotropic medicine by their family doctor.

Women who had abortions also had:

59 percent increased risk for suicidal thoughts
61 percent increased risk for mood disorders
61 percent increased risk for social anxiety disorders
261 percent increased risk for alcohol abuse
280 percent increased risk for any substance use disorder

It is indeed heart breaking to know the difficulties within a woman after abortion.

Is there something that you would like to contribute?

It’s horrifying once I realized I had the blood of my own children on my hands. And once it is done, NOTHING can take it back.

This is indeed a horrible thing to carry. It WAS MY “choice”. That makes it first degree manslaughter. That is serious.

Without salvation, true salvation and repentance and my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, I could not even afford to think long about what I had done. And that’s what most women end up having to do: push it down, push it away, ignore it, cover it over, just “not” think about it.

Except who has that much control over their thoughts?

If you can really believe this has no effect whatever on a woman’s heart, conscience and life, then I invite you to go enjoy something else. But if you can SEE how devastating this is, and without Christ wholly damning without hope or comfort then stand up for the rights of all innocent children who should be the most protected in their mother’s womb as they are in any time of their lives. And in the process stand up for that woman’s conscience for the rest of her life.
