John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
The world needs love right now. We all need to learn how to love like God and one another.
John always talks about the love of God for his children. The love of the Father. When Jesus comes into the picture, the point is: God loved us in giving Jesus for us. And when it comes to the one we should model our love on, John doesn’t say Love like Jesus. He says, Love like God:
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1 John 4:10–11).
We should love like God and love one another. If we could all learn to come from a place of love as opposed to hate or fear, the world would be a much more peaceful place.
Love…a four letter word that is easily given and rendered to someone, but when abused and hurt can easily be gone…In our world today, we need love…love for ourselves as well as to our fellowmen…Our love for others must be Christ-like!.. Love, not just as you love yourself, but as Christ loved you because our love for others is the strongest argument for our faith in Christ.
Yes, whenever you treat someone, just imagine how the Lord will feel and react. Your actions against other people or other living things, affects Him. Just like you, other people too are creations of God. Treat His creations with respect.
I agree with you, @MakkaPakka loving too much can sometimes ruin a person. We must be sensitive enough and think of those people we love and those people that love us. We do not know how a simple action can change a person’s way of living and thinking, it will affect how they interact with other people in the future.
True dear @kianna…we get blinded by love most of the time because we are too focused with our emotions towards the person…although there is nothing wrong about loving someone, but make sure you keep a little self love for yourself… You can only love truly, if you love yourself first…
No matter what is happening, we should always walk by faith and act like Christ. We should always put ourselves in other people’s shoes because we do not know where they came from and what they went through. Let us not be hard on other people and try to be more understanding. Let us love one another as how Christ loves us.
Ephesians 4:2: “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
Love should be a pandemic and not covid. God commanded us to love one another because He loves us, but because of our sinful nature and earthly desires this command has become very difficult to obey. Hate, pride, envy, greed and a lot more has stopped us from loving one another, these negative traits and behaviors consumed us and erased God’s ultimate purpose for us that is to spread love. Therefore we should voluntarily surrender all these negativity to God, and allow the virus of love to infect us and be a carrier so that covid19 pandemic will be replaced by love pandemic.
True! we must not forget about ourselves, too, that is very very important.
Hello @FaithinGod We must love one another as God loves each one of us. To be able to love, we need a clean heart. Prayer is what gives us a clean heart. The fruit of prayer is a deepening of faith and the fruit of faith is love. The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action.
