If they spend time making money, is it dangerous for them to be secular people? And distract their focus on saving souls? But if they only rely on the donation from Christians, many times they hardly make a living. I don’t expect to see missionaries suffering from the temptation of money.
Can we discuss about this issue?
In the church, there is not only pastors, but also deacons who are responsible for the living issues of believers. You may refer to the book of Acts when the early church was established, apostles anointed 7 deacons to manage believers’ meals and other living issues.

Normally, when missionary pioneer a new Church, they will get support form the parent Church. And for the Pastors, they get the salary from the Church, and the Church get the donation from the believes.
However, there always some special cases in some places. Not every church has enough donation, and not every missionary could get support form their parent church. For this kind of case, I think it’s OK to make money by themselves. The money is to save souls, it’s very precious in God’s sight.
For a mature Church, the missionary and pastors should focus on their mission so that the work can be effective. And the Church should have clear fiscal system to avoid corruption, for the money can become great temptation for some Church leaders.
