China’s communist government removed numerous crosses from church rooftops during the country’s coronavirus epidemic under the pretext that religious symbolism cannot be “higher” than the national flag.
Religious Liberty Magazine Bitter Winter reported that in mid-March, crosses were removed from multiple churches in the eastern provinces of Jiangsu and Anhui and in the neighboring Shandong, the prefecture-level city of Linyi.
Even if government will remove every crosses in every churches, people will really still preach God in many ways. It is all about faith, strong belief and close relationship with God that matters after all coz it is just a physical structure. What really matters is on how strong our faith in God is.
Hello, dear @James,
I can’t be more baffled and angrier about this. Even if serving the Lord and being a good Christian it’s not dependent to symbols or anything material, people like to have them. Even in these crisis it helps people to have more hope, what an stupid reason as “higher than the national flag”. They forget that God is higher than any government or any man will be.
We have to remember Jesus words: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 NIV
Kind regards, Luis Guerrero.
Whatever they do, they cannot bring us down. Our faith with the Lord God gets stronger as each day passes! We are strong and courageous because we have the Lord God who can protect us!
This is alarming especially now amidst all of this crisis that we are going through right now. In this pandemic that we are facing, this should be the time where people should kneel and bow down. Repent to God and recognize His Lordship over all. But instead this is what happens even telling God to His face that the people doesn’t need Him. For us Christians what we can do is not to take on this type of behavior head on, but to act and retaliate with the best weapon that we have - that is with prayer. Lets be one with our prayers and take this matter where it belongs and that is in the hands of the Almighty Father.
