No one comes to the Father except through me. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I, the LORD, search the heart; I examine the mind to reward a man according to his way, by what his deeds deserve. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, the fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” We testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony and they are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life for the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man for out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
