Hello everyone, for long now I haven’t been to any Christian gathering, hardly pray, finding it hard to mingle with people sharing Christlike believes,I try as much as I can but I get blow off by some things like knowing some stuffs from the preachers closets,I grew up going to church almost always but now
I need help to regain my spiritual activeness
Friend: what works for me is getting in a very quiet place setting aside time with the Lord (even if just for 15 minutes) whether it be early in the morning or late at night-whenever you have the time… Get deep into the word and heavy into prayer. Read & study certain Bible verses that will help you with anything particular subect matter you are struggling with. Once you begin to walk in the spirit…you will start to hear the voice of God and the Holy Spirit will guide, Comfort, and counsel you. The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, meekness., self control, etc. However, I find when I’m sitting in my flesh and in my feelings or sin, that it is much harder to hear the voice of God because I am submitting to my carnal human mind and body in agreement with sin! But, instead we must be in agreement with God and His word! I also would suggest Attending a good Bible-based church, and surround yourself with fellow believers, take communion in remembrance of Lord Jesus and pray daily.Christian Meditation: to meditate on the word of God! Meditation is a way of internalizing God’s Word—taking it deep into our hearts—so that the Holy Spirit can work through it to guide, teach, purify, and transform us from within. We can listen to the Bible, read it, and memorize Scripture to get it into our minds, but then we must also ponder it continually in our hearts so that we gain a deeper understanding of it and how it applies to our lives. Here are four practical tips for meditating on God’s Word:1. Carve out a specific time and place each day when you are least likely to be interrupted or distracted to get alone and meditate on God’s Word.2. Start with prayer and ask God to help you with your meditation. You can ask the Lord to draw you closer to Him, open your eyes to His truth, help you apply that truth in your life, and transform you as you meditate on God’s Word.3. Choose a small section of Scripture. Think about what the passage means. Study it in depth so that you can understand it in context. Take notes. Ask questions. Memorize the passage. Ask God what He wants to say to you through the text.4. Consider how you can apply the passage to your life in practical ways, and ask God to help you follow through in obedience to what He shows you.Amen
It’s hard when you look up to a preacher and you find out they had some serious flaws. Remember that our faith isn’t in preachers. Our faith isn’t in man. Our faith is in God. Only He is perfect. Focus on God. Then surround yourself with others who are also focusing on God rather than being focused on each other. I hope that helps and I pray you find the encouragement you need to get back into reading the Bible and praying without ceasing.
If you have trouble going to church, I would recommend just go to the prayer closet and wait for Him to speak. This can deepen your relationship and ask Him to teach you new things and help you grow. Our help comes from God! Most of all, love Him, and love others. Have Him search your heart Psalm 139. Worship, sing, laugh, have joy!“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.”I John 4:17-19 NKJVI believe the Lord says, “I love you child, you are mine”“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.”Isaiah 43:1 NKJV
I m so greatful for all your reply,I have seen my fault and I believe with the help of the holy spirit I shall overcome thank you all
Maybe you get away from the church, and Focus your Relationship with Christ. It worked for me. God bless you.
Ejay,It is ALL ABOUT JESUS!! A perfect Jesus and an imperfect church!! Yes, when we look at the many flaws of the imperfect church, we sort of take our eyes off our perfect Savior. I’ve heard it said, “Church would be great if I didn’t have to deal with the church (people)!!” Or, “If you think you’ve found a perfect church, as soon as you walked in, it was not perfect anymore!” So, as bad as it is and I’ve seen plenty of bad, God is great and greatly to be praised and in the midst of His people!! We are ALL going to a meeting/gathering place ~ with our own set of problems, weaknesses, bend towards sins, frailities, brokenness, hurts and pains. We all need Jesus to fix us!! All have sinned and all are still sinning in the church. To help you get over what seems to be a huge hurdle is - don’t look at how high the hurdle is, but rather look even higher ~ to the Most High God, from where your/all of our help comes from!! We are all, as believers in the glorious Gospel are called to lay aside the sins and weights that so easily beset us AND look to JESUS, the author and finisher/perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross and the shame. He is our example! We are to lay aside our thoughts of an imperfect church, that it bothers us to be around. Look at ourselves, that we may not always be so great to have others be around us. And endure and be victorious with other believers and fellowship with them. The body of Christ extremely needs each other!! We were not meant by God to function on our own, as an island. When some are down, the others help bring them up with the Truths of God’s Word. So, we all help each other to be better believers in Jesus!! You can do this, with Gods help, Ejay!! Find a church where you can help others and they can help you - be more Christ like. For, it really is ALL ABOUT JESUS!!
