I wish keeping our mouth clean were as easy as using a tongue-cleaner or a bar of Ivory soap. Just think of what it would mean, my brothers and sisters, to have tongues that didn’t gossip, tell lies, criticize friends, speak unloving words, spew out anger, or reveal secrets. It sure would be an effective way to keep from saying too much when we should keep quiet or saying too little when we should speak up. The Bible says the heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips… And how do we get a wise heart? By yielding to the will and control of the Lord. Only He can help us keep our tongue clean. - Proverbs 16:23
