I need some logical information. Why is it so important to read the bible in one year? Is there a scripture i missed on this somewhere?

I think it’s better to study instead of just reading. Check scriptural references to other scripture as you read. This has helped me immensely. It answers questions, and creates questions as well.

It’s a reading goal for those who are motivated. Not a command. The word of God is living and it renews our mind. It’s important to read it each day, but I don’t have a set time frame to finish it. Some days I might not get past a few verses, but I will meditate on those passages throughout the day. Today I read Acts, got to 2:29 but focused on 2:21-29 because I wanted to memorize it. Read as you please and start from anywhere. Best advice is to pray before you sit down each time and ask God to guide you. He will. Also, some people say that where your at in the bible is where your at in life  be motivated and encouraged, but also be prepared as God’s word will convict your heart. You aren’t condemned, but God’s word will prompt you to change your ways and to see the world differently.

I don’t think so. Yes it is important to read the bible, and I have read it all. But not in one year. I have followed the leading of the holy spirit, my needs, my interests. Eventually I read it all.

You can read it a lot faster than a year, but a year is a good time frame to be able to meditate on it, learn from it apply what you retain, and start over again the next year. If you keep a journal and write down what you learn and what stands out to you you would have a steady timeline you would be able to compare to. Happy reading, and God bless you all!

Reading it is good. You don’t “have” to read the Bible in a year. Reading it everyday is important. Reading the Bible in a year is a good goal though

Good question especially when it seems most get the idea this is best accomplished by “jumping around” rather then starting in the beginning and reading straight through “to keep it interesting.” I think it is because want to claim they read the entire Bible when they wouldn’t otherwise invest the time.

That is merely a specific way to study. Countless people have challenged themselves to do it. No one’s saying you have to do it in one year.I’ve done it in 5 months.
