I will love you forever Mom!

After the passing of our Mother on December 31 2015, the pain in my heart was so intense.
The tears for my Mom flowed like a reservoir and I felt beyond comfort.
Our problem as humans is we so often underestimate the hearts need for healing. In the effort to keep busy, I placed my grief on the back burner, only to have it come rushing back later.
In retrospect I recall my reasoning, as I saw signs of Mom’s deteriorating health. “We all get old. She still has time.” I thought.
I believe God gives us clues when we are about to leave our earthly place. In the silence of her spirit, my Mother Possibly had some insight from our Heavenly Father.
I see that now, as tearfully, I held the last Christmas card she sent to me.
I opened it again after her death to read her inscription again,
and I gasped at the words she wrote: “I will love you forever. God bless you.”
With the busyness of the Holiday, I missed this most important message from my Mom.
As we discussed regrets with family, my biggest regret was I didn’t get the chance to tell her I love her, one last time.
But God in His infinite wisdom and mercy, found a way to give that love back to me.
A Christmas card message from Mom, proved just as as soothing as a Heavenly embrace from her.
I will love you forever Mom!
