If Christ died to free us from sin why do we who say we are saints still keep sinning?

Sin is very series…we live in the fallen world so even we saved and become spiritually perfect by believing the sacrifice of Christ on the cross…but still we live in the world where more influence of evil that’s why we need to spend more time with the Lord…and let the Word of God penetrate deep into our hearts then we will receive the power to overcome temptation, we Believers are in the processes of sanctification.

there is positional righteousness and the practical righteousness so we are positionally perfect being exactly like God but practically imperfect falling in many sins…so what we have to do is …we have to meditate again and again who we are in Christ…then we see amazing results in practical life…
we are in the process of sanctification, transformed day by day…by the renewal of the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of Truth

The first one is about justification, and the second one is about sanctification. And we should know clear about these two. When we accept Jesus’ love of dying for us, we are saved and set free from sins; all of our sins committed before have been cleansed; this is justification, which means that our identity has changed. But this is not the end, for we still have sinful natures which make us sin again; and we should continue cleansing these sins by the precious blood of Jesus; this is sanctification, which means that our status is changing.
1 John 2:1 says "My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action]. and,
Jude 24 says “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight,”[quote=“Sophia, post:1, topic:1165, full:true”]

Sin is a choice therefore, we don’t have to. We sin because, we want to because, we are following desires of the flesh.
Because Jesus died for our sin, after He died, we can recover relationship with God.
But we still have our habit sin.
We, who are saints, should not live in sin.
There is a big difference between “I sinned once today and have to repent of it to God” and keeping that clean day by day through repentance - and - just sinning, knowing full well we are sinning, and rarely even slowing down.
In the first case, the daily reading of the Bible helps God speak to our conscience and begin to transform our minds. This is what helps to change our sinful nature and that is called “sanctification”.
We are only justified and saved if we REPENT and BELIEVE. There is nothing in the Bible about inviting Jesus into our “hearts” for a pow-wow. This is a complete repentance of all our sins all our lives, and a complete reliance, belief in, and faith in Jesus Christ that HE can cleanse us of all our sins.
But if you do not read the Bible daily, how do you hear or learn what God wants? This is a two way relationship, and it does not exist in our imaginations. That kind of “saved” doesn’t work on sin. I tried it.
The only way sin is removed in large amounts (enough that our friends and family make comments about the drastic change in us) is if GOD Himself actually saves us. It is not our decision, it is God’s.
If you want this and feel you don’t have it, read the Bible. Read and ask God to open your eyes, to give you a heart of stone in place of your heart of flesh.
Once you are truly saved, you cannot bear even one conscious sin. You find you must ask for God’s forgiveness and help not to repeat it. And you find you are angry at yourself for sinning. But trust in Jesus’ work on the cross when you repent and have faith that He can remove it and sanctify you.

God give us a will to choose. Temptations are everywhere, in my own opinion its up to you if you will do it or not.
Remembering the Verse of Matthew 5:29-30a About Sin. You can reflect on this as well.
If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.”
