It amazes me how through peanut “logic” people accuse God of being unjust. They say: “How can God be loving if he punishes sinners with everlasting fire, HUH Christian?” Yet they then turn around and celebrate a worldly judge for putting a murderer behind bars for life. The irony! So you will give a corrupted man praise for judging someone and taking their life away, but condemn an innocent and perfect God for doing the same?
What does a worldly judge, who HAS done evil in their life just the same as those they judge, say to the man who commits murder but pleas for mercy because at other points in his life he says: “I did good things”? The worldly judge says SO WHAT! You committed a crime and you need to be punished for it, it doesn’t matter that you did good elsewhere, because you did wrong here! Then off they go into potentially their whole life being restricted to a single facility and some bars.
Yet the creator of all things who has never done wrong, who even came to show us what real goodness and innocence looks like in Christ, rightfully saying he will judge the wicked is somehow UNFAIR? WHAT? He has every right to judge! He makes it clear what he desires from people for hundreds of years (Hosea 6:6, Isaiah 58:6-11, and more!) and we never do it. The fault is not with God, but with us, PERIOD.
Atheist arguments are so shallow and pathetic it’s getting old fast. To all of you who have seen and believed on the one who justifies the ungodly, I’m thankful for you. Goodness and mercy will follow us who trust in the Lord for all of our days.
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

God has to judge unbelievers forever. Anything less would show a lack of love for His Son and what He accomplished on the cross. So it’s not spite that keeps them in hell forever, it’s love, the love the Father has for His Son.

People don’t like being held accountable for their own sins. Most people in the comment section on a post about a rapist or phedofile or murderer will almost always make a moral judgment against that person saying they should be killed or raped or life in prison etc. They are in fact admitting sin should be punished or wrong doing rather should be punished. It’s definitely a hypocritical view point on their part.

I think you’re confused about atheists position if you believe the argument is that we don’t believe god exists because he’s not loving. We don’t believe in god because, generally, we withhold belief until there is sufficient good reason to believe something. That simple. Suggesting that we have opinions about god that make us atheist would mean that we actually believe god exists which would make us, by definition, not atheists. However, you bring up an interesting point regarding the god you believe exists and how an atheist could argue that entity you believe exists isn’t loving. I’d like to touch on this a bit. You said that we praise the judgement of a worldly judge but not the judgment of the supposed god and “creator of all things”. Let’s take a look at that last part carefully. If god created “all things”, then he also created sin. If he is judging sin the he must also judge himself, but he does not. Moreover, you believe him to be all powerful and all knowing, so wouldn’t he know a better way than we do to handle these problems? In fact wouldn’t he have the best way? When we judge people in the world and sentence them to prison, the intent should be that we are protecting society by removing dangerous people and also discouraging the behavior. Yet we are also only human and this is the best tool we have thus far. Moreover, if that person were to die, we don’t then care what happens to them because they are no longer any threat to anyone or anything. If god is punishing people when they die then who does that help? Who benefits from their pain and imprisonment? Aside from whether there is a better solution to eliminate what you might consider sin, justice should be rehabilitate or at least provide the most benefit to the community being judged; it should not be purely punitive. If we subject people to “punishment” to their crimes while alive, then the point is simply to provide the benefit to society of them not being able to cause harm or pain to others anymore. If an afterlife does exist, then the only reason to punish someone at that point is because you’re a sadist who enjoys others pain you enjoy their suffering. If not then why wouldn’t got just simply have them cease to exist in any reality? No pleasure, no pain, no experience of any kind. Or is your god so “loving” that he desires to cause pain to the people he supposedly loves?

Barbara Line-Ward Revelation 20:8-10 'and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are , and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. ’ The Greek word “aionion,” usually translated “eternal,” does not necessarily mean “eternal.” It specifically refers to an “age” or an “eon”, a specific period of time.
