Leaving Homosexuality: 'I Gave God My Gayness, Addiction

Wonderful testimony of a Ex Gay man who was touched by the love of God and was changed. The living testimony of changed people is always powerful.

“Basically they saw this one guy in the army, and at night I would go out to the gay clubs and go hang out and party and live my life the best way I knew how without God,” Ruiz said.

He received even worse news days later upon getting an email telling him that many of the people who died that night were HIV-positive and he was urged to get tested. He did so and found out that he, too, was HIV-positive. Ruiz sank deeper into depression, thought he was going to die, and became furiously angry.

But God met him in the midst of it, he said.

“It’s either you submit and surrender yourself to Me or it’s just going to get worse after this,” Ruiz recalled the Holy Spirit speaking to him.

While in bed one day shortly after this, through tears, he cried out to God, asking Him transform his life with this power that he had heard about in church and read about in the Bible for so many years. He decided to surrender everything, including his sexuality.

“I even said: ‘I’m gay, God. This is how you’re taking me. Take me as I am. I don’t know if you’re supposed to take this away from me or not. I’ve tried this many times.’ And in the midst of all that, automatically, things started falling off of my life.”

“I gave Him my gayness. I gave him my pornography addictions, everything,” he said.

He sensed the Holy Spirit prompt him: “How about you give me you.”

“It’s not a gay to straight thing. Just give [Him] your heart,” Ruiz said.

He now will give a testimony of his transformation with many other Ex-LGBT men and woman at “freedom march” which is a parade of those men and woman who were transformed by Jesus.

This is amazing!

@Moses_C This is truly a sensitive topic for LGBTQ people. They often think that God made them like that and they just have to accept that because that is what they feel.

I have few friends who are LGBTQ and i dont exactly know how would i approach them about their sexuality in relation to God. I was once experienced same-sex relationship but gladly i escaped from it. One of my concerned friends asked me, “Is that what really makes you happy?” Slowly I realized that is not God what made me to be. I realized it is wrong. It is not God’s plan. I regret it because i lost a good friend because of that.

In my workplace i have 2 colleagues who are Bisexual, and i think they are still confused of who they really are. I hope and pray that they will realize the true essence of their individuality.

@cocoyoongie I feel your concern. However, I have decided that I will treat homosexuality and all it’s accouterments no different than any other sin! By time I was a mere 3 years old, I was already an angry feminist! Mind you, that term wasn’t even used when I was 3 years old.

We are ALL born in sin. We just have our “favorites” that our worldly lusts

(1 John 2:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.)

draw us toward. I see no difference in the sin of one person to another. We are all sinners.

So I give the same exact law and Gospel to a gay person as to a straight person (who most likely is committing fornication and/or adultery which are also sexual sins). I don’t see a difference.

@Sunami_Carpenter What I shall i do with them? How can i approach them that being gay or bisexual is a sin from God and that is unacceptable to God? How will i make them understand it in a nice way without offending them? Should i ask them questions?

@cocoyoongie I hope you will allow me to speak very plainly so this is understandable.

Keep your nose completely out of their homosexuality! It is none of your business.

However, when Jesus said “Matthew 5:27-28 New International Version (NIV)
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” He means it for all people.

Lusting for someone who is not your spouse is committing adultery. We have ALL done that. Focus on what we have all done, by using the 10 commandments. Lying, cheating, stealing, bearing false witness, not honoring our parents, not loving our neighbors as ourselves, not loving God with all our heart, soul mind and strength… we have ALL broken these. Stay on those. There are plenty of sins we commit no matter what our supposed “sexual orientation” is.

If they seem repentant, or sad, or very serious and thoughtful, offer them the hope of salvation through Christ. Then point them to the BIBLE. It will tell them as they read it all the sins they have committed via the Holy Spirit if they are saved. Jesus Christ is the Only One who saves, and when He saves He also gives us the Holy Spirit which helps to slowly clean up our lives: this is called “sanctification”.

Please pay serious attention to this. I was a “feminist bi-sexual” before salvation. I am no longer a feminist nor a bi-sexual. I didn’t need man to try to point out my faults, I needed GOD to do that and cleanse me.

Here is an example of how to share the Law and the Gospel with someone. Anyone. No special anything needed.

@Sunami_Carpenteri really appreciate it. As i was reading your reply and reading thru your experiences, it is the same as mine. I was also a bisexual before but then slowly God revealed to me that it is not right. The Holy Spirit that dwells in me made me realize my mistake. No one dictated and pointed it out on me. It is truly God who will made you realize your mistakes in the process of salvation.

This is great! It’s not that I have some kind of intense human “wisdom” it’s that I share what happened to me through God’s salvation and subsequent giving me His Holy Spirit that it reminded you of your own experience in this and helped you recognize what is happening in your own sanctification!

This is what I call “Christian Fellowship”! Thank you for sharing it with me.
