While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him. Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.” But Jesus replied, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?” Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers. For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.” Jesus said, Dear brothers and sisters, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows is God in his holy dwelling. He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ in accordance with his pleasure and will we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
