May the Lord make me as one who could return good for evil

Genesis 45: 4b-5 he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.”

This is the word that Joseph, the sold brother talked to his elder 10 brothers. What an amazing word. I feel there is forgiveness to the brothers, and also trust in God’s control and his love.

This is Joseph, a Bible figure whom I love most.

When I reflect on myself, I did not have a friendly relationship with siblings, although I have one sister and one brother, when my brother was mean to me, or said to me with a impolite manner, I usually return with the same way.

May the Lord lift up my heart in Jesus Christ, and then I can be the one who could return good for evil. (Romans 12: 21)

Hello, dear @Ma_Josephine
What an awesome reflection… The history and life of Joseph is one very sad, one of treason, a tragedy perhaps… But more importantly, is one of faith and forgiveness. Because even though their brother sold him, he trough God love and faith, find the forgiveness on his heart and even found a meaning on all of it. The world would be a wonderful place if all of us were able to be more like that, to not let be controlled by rage and sin, but to live by love, forgiveness and faith. Because at the end of the day, we all are brothers of the same Father.
Kind regards, Luis Guerrero.

I really love the story of Joseph. His journey was not easy, he was sold by his own brothers. I can’t imagine how painful that was for him. There was a time that my brother did not talk to me for a year just because I asked our helper to drive me to work because I’m running late. I went into depressive state and was crying for months, what more if ever he sold me? But despite what Joseph had been through, He trusted God with all his heart and forgive the unforgivable. He let God used Him in His perfect time for his glory.

Lord please lead our path to you. Be the shepherd, the one that guides us to be good to fight our individual inner evil souls that grows within ourselves.Let us see the light and be righteous. Thank you for being there and always reminds us how to be good ,and do good deeds to the others.
