My heart is troubled, knowing many are misled to believe they can obtain eternal life through their works. With this mindset, shall we not continue to sacrifice animals to cover our sins, as they did in the old covenant? We don’t sacrifice animals in this present age because we have been sanctified by the precious blood of Jesus who covered us permanently. This is his new covenant with us. If you’re stuck in the ways of the Old Testament, where is your high priest? Where are the sacrifices being made to cover your sin? This way of thinking is trampling the son of man, who is now our high priest forever! Jesus suffered and his body was broken for us. What love and mercy he has shown us! This sacrifice did not cleanse us for a few days or weeks, or else we would need to continue making such sacrifices. We have been sanctified by his blood. Faith in him alone is where grace and salvation is found. Look towards him and be humble, because the work was finished, as he declared it at the cross. When we put our trust in him, nothing will ever take us from his hand. All we are left to do is love him with all our heart and love our brothers and sisters. Love is the key to truth and he is love.
