In that day people will throw away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. So I will very gladly spend for you everything I have and expend myself as well. Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s wrath. It will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs, for it has caused them to stumble into sin. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
