Now King David was old and well along in years, and though they covered him with blankets, he could not keep warm. So his servants said to him, “Let us search for a young virgin for our lord the king, to attend to him and care for him and lie by his side to keep him warm. So Jesus went with him, then and a large crowd followed and pressed around Him they searched throughout Israel for a beautiful girl, and they found Abishag the Shunammite and brought her to the king and a woman was there who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years. She had borne much agony under the care of many physicians and had spent all she had, but to no avail. Instead, her condition had only grown worse. The girl was unsurpassed in beauty; David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. she cared for the king and served him, but he had no relations with her. Jesus said to her, “Mary.” Many false prophets will arise and mislead many. Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). But Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” He answered, “ I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” The woman came and knelt before Him. “Lord, help me!” she said. “Do not cling to Me,” Jesus said, “for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go and tell My brothers, “Say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, give his inheritance to his daughter. ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to them, Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation. For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.” Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. They will be yours for food. Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them what He had said to her. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.…
I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. An hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you this way, but will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in My name. Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.
Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
