A wicked and adulterous generation demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah ”as you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit for whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward. “Watch out!” Jesus told them. “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees they too will reply, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then the King will answer, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.’ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Then Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, “As for Me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. Then He left them and went away because the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world was not given through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. The younger son said to him, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. After a few days, the younger son got everything together and journeyed to a distant country, where he squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent all he had, a severe famine swept through that country, and he began to be in need. “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. ”When they crossed to the other side, the disciples forgot to take bread. Then God said, let us not become weary in doing good, cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.“ Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground for to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
