Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “Listen and understand. These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’” Then Jesus said to them, so in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. He does not lend to them at interest or take a profit from them. He withholds his hand from doing wrong and judges fairly between two parties. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him. “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
