So the past few weeks I’ve been thinking about getting PureFlix. When I first heard about a Christian streaming provider, I thought “what a great idea, finally a place where I don’t have to spend 15 minutes searching for a halfway decent show or movie”. But the more I thought about it the more holes I started to poke in the idea. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that all the Christian movies on other secular streaming providers have disappeared? This is because Christian streaming providers like PureFlix have been buying the rights to these movies to put up on their platform. Do you see the problem with this? The small bit of light shining on these secular streaming platforms is being taken away. Also who do you think is buying subscriptions to PureFlix? Christians, not the people who need to be seeing these movies. Take “American Gospel” for example. It was on Netflix for about a year. Can you imagine how many lives that movie changed? It changed mine for sure. Now it’s on PureFlix, only to be seen by other like minded Christians. It might be changing the minds of prosperity focused Christian’s but this severely limits the outreach of this movie. It’s a great idea but not well thought through.
God Bless
I agree, I’ve noticed it also! It’s all about the money is what I feels like to me sometimes and it’s just sad and you’re right also about that it should be available to non Christians more than to Christians!
Never underestimate Gods ability to work. There are still movies available on streaming services and free platforms. Chosen is EVERYWHERE and it’s free. Perhaps, we should focus more on ourselves spreading the love and word of Christ, than a “tell a vision” all the time.
I loved PureFlix when we had it but at one point they’d mistakenly charged my card $74 and after days turned into weeks of getting the runaround I just gave up and took the loss and NEVER got the money returned…you would think that a Christian based… See more
