¡A lack of the fear of God
¡Little sense of outrage over the godlessness of society
¡Watching pornography and feeling justified
¡Avarice, greed and lack of financial integrity
¡No sense of outrage over the Churchâs lack of credibility in the world
¡Little or no concern about people going to hell
¡Little concern about the lack of knowledge of Godâs word
¡Indifference to the biblical view of marriage
¡Indifference to holding grudges and unforgiveness
¡Indifference to talking to people about Christ
¡Tolerating heresies such as open theism and hyper-grace teaching
¡Indifference to the teaching that the Bible is infallible
¡Indifference to how much time is spent in prayer and quiet time
Let us pray for the revival of the church. Many souls are waiting for the salvation. And I believed an awakened Church will help restore a fear of the Lord in the nations.
When Jonathan Edwards preached his sermon âSinners in the Hands of an Angry Godâ on 8th July 1741, the immediate fallout was that men held on to church pews and trees outside to keep from slipping into hell. God only did this once during the New England Great Awakening. But the power of it was so profound that word of that sermon and its immediate effect spread all over New England in days and all over England in weeks.
We should pray God raise up more Christian leaders who have Godâs love and know Godâs words. One person can change the world if God is with him!!!
Jesus is coming soon, but the Church is sleeping. The greatest evidence is our lack of outrage over what is tolerated in the Church and what is going on in the world. Not only are we indifferent to what is happening before our eyes, we have become so used to it that we are virtually impervious to it. The biblical view of marriage is on the way out. Terrorism is at our doors. Church attendance is declining more than ever. We are losing our young people. If someone calls things like this to our attention we say, âOh yes. Itâs pretty awful.â Then we roll over. Zzzzzzzz. âLet me sleep on.â
Amen. The early church is very powerful. Acts 4:32-35 says, âAll the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And Godâs grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostlesâ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.â
Maybe some churches are sleeping today. But I believe the churches donât belong to human, Jesus Christ is the head. And God built his church and he also is leading the church. For Godâs kingdom is not a matter of the number of the church, but those who really believe in God and love God. God will use this kind of church to work and finish His work.

My âchurchâ is not inside a building, has no statement of faith other than the Scriptures and what Scripture says is faith, and itâs head is Jesus Christ, always. We are beholden directly to each other and no one is âin chargeâ. Rather we submit to one another and to God, praying for His guidance and the ability to learn as we go along. I find it lacking the long list that is so adequately described in this thread by @Jenna. âHere are some signs we are asleep at the present time:â etc.
Also, none of us are outraged over the godlessness of society. Society IS godless. Man is naturally godless. So we donât EXPECT worldly people to act like Christians. However, that doesnât mean we are not at times quite grieved over what is happening in the world. And so we usually express our concerns to one another and lift each other in prayer and try to help one another with these times.
