The Sabbath is not in a day, it’s in a man the Lord Jesus Christ!

The Sabbath is not in a day, it’s in a man the Lord Jesus Christ!!

Leon Wilson

If the Sabbath was meant to be any day of rest, why did God SPECIFICALLY make the 7th day the Sabbath at creation? The Sabbath never changed. It is still the 7th day and it is meant to be holy.

️THE TRUTH about the Sabbath: As the Book of Exodus testified that God is ONLY dealing with the nation of ISRAEL under The OLD Covenant Law: God ‘s CHOSEN people the JEWS, NOT Gentiles who have no relationship to the Law! The Sabbath was a sign (as clearly stated in the bible: SEE *Exodus 20:12) between God and his chosen people, the JEWS, the nation of Israel! The word sabbath means to REST from labor, which was before the law and will be in effect after the law, but this does not give license to those who dogmatically claim that we are “required to keep the Saturday Sabbath!” SABBATH IS ABOUT REST, NOT A DAY, WHICH IS IN CHRIST: LORD OF THE SABBATH! When we enter God’s rest in Christ, we rest as he did! HEBREWS 4:9-10. THE word, “Sabbath” is from the Hebrew verb shabbat, meaning “to REST from labor”; the day of rest. Jesus Christ is the REST, our Sabbath for our souls; hence, we are to rest in HIM! Jesus was born under the law and why he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath. If Jesus was at the synagogue to “observe the Sabbath,” then why did those at the synagogue reject him and try to attack him?? Think about it! See Luke 4:28-30. We cannot be dogmatic (like the Pharisees Matthew 12:1-12:8) and claim our own righteous (apart from Christ, thinking we are keeping the law as we cannot keep it perfectly, James 2:10), and in false religiosity claim that today (after the cross) believers are still required to keep the Saturday Sabbath, when believers are now under a NEW covenant and NEW commandment: SEE>>JOHN 13:34, James 2:8, Hebrews 10:16, Matthew 22:36-40. Saturday and/or *Sunday, any day, EVERYDAY can be a day of rest to worship God!To clarify I am <!NOT!> IN ANY WAY claiming that “Sunday is "replacing the sabbath”, nor am I combining them or saying one is better than the other! The Sabbath still remains in GOD’s economy-As God rested on the 7th day/sabbath before he gave the law to Moses! Hebrews 4 is the definitive passage regarding Jesus as our Sabbath rest. The writer to the Hebrews exhorts his readers to “enter in” to the Sabbath rest provided by Christ. The SABBATH Colossians 2:16-17: Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of any holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: *Paul was referring to ALL SABBATH DAYS for God’s law is ONE COMPLETE UNIT! James 2:10. Which are a shadow (Greek word: skia transalated as shadow, sketch, outline) of things to come, the reality (substance), however, is FOUND IN CHRIST! We worship GOD, not idolize a day!Romans 14:5: One man esteemed one day above another: another esteemed every day alike. Let every man be FULLY PERSUADED IN HIS OWN MIND! This is not about the OLD Mosaic law of stone and rule keeping! NO! But about worship of our Savior in SPIRIT and TRUTH! John 4:23-24.Originally, the Sabbath was a day of rest, and that purpose was retained in the Mosaic Law (Exodus 16:23–29; 31:14–16; 35:2–3; Deuteronomy 5:12–15; Nehemiah 13:15–22; Jeremiah 17:21–27). Under the Old Covenant, sacrifices were made daily at the tabernacle/temple. The “worship” was continual. And there were special commands given to Israel regarding a “sacred assembly” held on the Sabbath (Leviticus 23:3; cf. Numbers 28:9). The keeping of the Sabbath was the “sign” of the covenant between Israel and the Lord (Exodus 31:13) ISAIAH 66:22-23: is talking about the future heavenly ETERNAL REST IN CHRIST, NOT SATURDAY! Rest is found forever in the Lord, and not a day! Hence why REST was before the Law (as Christ was before the law: Alpha &Omega, Rev. 22:13) and IN CHRIST is where ALL (Jew and Gentile) the saints will R E S T together and worship God for all eternity! The New Testament records Jews and converts to Judaism meeting in synagogues on the Sabbath (Mark 6:2; Luke 4:31; Luke 13:10–16; Acts 13:14, 27, 42–44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4). With no work being done on the Sabbath day, it would be the ideal day to have organized worship services. However, the New Testament does not command that the Saturday Sabbath be the day of worship. The church (all believers in Christ) is not under the old Mosaic Law, the old covenant of stone, but the Superior Covenant of Grace on this side of the cross! Ephesians 2:8-9. Hebrews 9:15, Jeremiah 31:31-34. Hebrews 7:22, 2 Corinthians 3:6, Hebrews 8:6.The church is under the New Covenant, established by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible nowhere describes Christians setting aside the Sabbath day as the day of worship. The Apostle Paul (who was a Jew; Philippians 3:5) observed the law to win those to Christ: “To the Jews, I became a Jew!” Paul taught grace and not law! SEE Galatians 3:10-12, Galatians 3:13-14, 1 Corinthians 9:20-22, Ephesians 2:8-9.The only Scriptures that describe Christians in any sense meeting on the Saturday Sabbath are in fact pointing to evangelistic efforts at Jewish synagogues, which met on the Sabbath day. Acts 2:46 records the early Christians meeting every day. The Bereans studied the Scriptures every day (Acts 17:11). Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 both mention Christians meeting on the first day of the week: SUNDAY.There is no evidence in the New Testament that the apostles or the early Christians in any sense “observed” the Sabbath day as the prescribed day of worship.Traditionally, Christians have held their primary corporate worship services on Sundays, the first day of the week, in celebration of Christ’s resurrection, which occurred on a Sunday (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2; Luke 24:1; John 20:1). In the New Testament: Under the NEW covenant, under GRACE: There is no explicit biblical command that either Saturday or Sunday be the day of worship. FOR THE LAW MADE NOTHING PERFECT! Hebrews 7:19. HENCE THE KEY IS REST!Scriptures such as Romans 14:5–6 and Colossians 2:16 give Christian’s freedom to observe a special day or to observe every day as special. God’s desire is that we worship and serve Him continually, every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday, AND REST IN HIM TODAY, EVERYDAY AND FOREVER IN ETERNITY!ALL believers (John 3:16) are under the New Covenant under GRACE (not the Mosaic Law of Stone) which began at THE CROSS, Hebrews 9:16-17: For where there is a testament [same word as “covenant” in the original Greek], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [covenant] is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. (Heb. 9:16-17). These verses clearly explain that in the same way as an earthly testament (or will) only can come into force after the testator has died, the New Covenant could only come into force after the death of the Jesus, who is the testator of the New Covenant!“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” Romans 11:6.BELIEVERS REST IN JESUS CHRIST BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH! AMEN!

Chris Hufnagel those that are against the sabbath day are against God. You deny the law and you deny Jesus.

Ricardo Itza Our Creator called the 7th day sabbath because sabbath means rest and that’s what He did. He did not command Adam and Eve to rest, they were created on the 6th day and entered God’s rest, a continuous Spiritual rest. They were living in the Spirit, resting in God and worshiping Him 24/7. That rest was interrupted by the fall and when God gave Moses the law, the rest was reduced to one day. The curse put upon man was that he had to labor six days and rest one.Florence Danclar interesting your comment, however I can see is your understanding, because what you say isn’t backed by the Bible. SorryRicardo Itza I would love you to show me where God gave man a day of rest and worship at creation and not when He gave Moses the law, 430 years after He gave Abraham the promise.Florence Danclar at creation isn’t mentioned, you are asking for something that’s not written. As is not written what kind of sacrifice Cain and Abel must present and is written that Abel’s was accepted and not Cain’s. Do this teaches us something?

Dan Sullivan U need to understand the relationship between the old and new covenant

we are not Israelites ,we are not in the wilderness, we are not under the mosaic law we are under Christ and Christ alone .

You are repeating false ideas from Paul, the Anti-Christ. The Sabbath has always been the last day of the week and the New Moon. It is a great DAY of celebration, due to the fact that the gates to His inner presence is OPEN only one day - the Sabbath - day 7 and the New Moon.

Russell Dibird

Scott Herrell that isn’t Jew “ish” culture. That’s EXACTLY what is instructed in the Bible. God didn’t bring a bunch of new rules to bring confusion. He made it known from the beginning that there is ONE LAW, ONE ORDINANCE for the stranger and the home-born.
