This is something that has always bothered me Thecommandment about bearing false witness
I worked on a dementia unit for a number of years. We were trained to not tell them things if they couldn’t remember? Example “where’s my husband?” and he had passed on
So as to not upset them I would say he was on a business trip or somewhere
their particular loved one might be
Is this considered a sin?

I don’t believe there is anything wrong with that lie at all, the lie itself doesn’t hurt anyone and it makes the individual much more happy then reliving the trauma or being told the truth every single day
