is biblical repentance a change of mind and choosing to follow and trust in our lord Jesus christ. I know some people claim this and some people claim it means asking forgiveness. I think it lines up with the gospel about trusting Jesus with your salvation. Because you are repenting of your old thought process and choosing to have faith in Jesus

There are two types of repentance. Repentance unto salvation and repentance for sins. Those are two different things. 1st John 1:9 says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. The key there is John was talking to believers.
