WBFN "Remarkable Courage"

-dear God
-------------
** “Hope in the Wasteland”**
The words of my heart ache for release
As I fumble through the emotional wasteland
Pains long gone, hurts so far forgotten
** They are hidden land mines, eager to explode**
** With just one step of false security.**
** And a figure appears, a man with nothing special**
To distinguish him, except his remarkable courage
** As he boldly steps forward, hand outstretched**
Stopping only to expertly dismantle each and every
** Explosive on his way to me.**
** There is a hope that springs up within me**
** And my heart is astounded, unable to fully grasp**
** The magnitude of this man’s actions, this man’s**
** Sacrifice, until I realize that this is no ordinary man**
He is God, made flesh, out of love for me. **
And with each step he takes to me, I take a tiny
Baby step forward, releasing the ghosts of pain
** That have been haunting my every move

Specters of sin that have waylaid me from my true path
** Along the road of righteousness. **
He clears the path for me, albeit (although)
** a narrow one And I walk, head held high, **
drinking in the Sun that shines brighter than
** ever before And the grass that is suddenly greener**
** than any emerald I have ever seen; and I am happy.**
** He offers up a nature that is so divine, so**
** Unlike what I have been used to all my life even**
Though I have hated so much of what
I’ve done and been
He gives me the spirit of forgiveness, of love, of joy
And of hope, of sweet radiant hope.
** And we meet in the middle**
One heart Holy, the other becoming whole
** With each tear shed, with each prayer uttered**
The layers of holiness flood me and fill every void
** Creating in me a pure heart, a heart for God.**

** "In you, LORD, I have taken refuge;**
let me never be put to shame; deliver me
** in your righteousness. Turn your ear to me,**
come quickly to my rescue; be my rock
** of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. **
Since you are my rock and my fortress,
**for the sake of your name lead and guide me. **
Keep me free from the trap that is set for me, **
** for you are my refuge. Into your hands

I commit my spirit; deliver me,
LORD, my faithful God." **
