What does it mean to Fear the LORD?
Whenever we hear the phrase “the fear of the Lord”, the first idea that comes to mind is reverence to God. However, it doesn’t only mean respecting God but loving Him as well.
Having this fear of the Lord also has some implications.
Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
If we have this fear of the Lord, we will hate the the things that God hate and at the same time, love the things that God love.
Of course there are a lot of consequences and benefits if one will have this fear of the Lord. Just read the book of Proverbs and Psalms to know more about it.
