For me, one thing that has helped me is to be open minded and understanding. Everyone around us have something going on, or maybe some are not knowledgeable about some things, or for short we may all fail and still in the process of learning. How people treat you may have numerous of factors, so I try my best to stay kind and understand them.
What helps me to be more like Jesus is a prayer of total surrender. Surrendering my everything to Him. I usually take my time to reflect on Him. I have this desire to be more like him each and every day, denying myself and taking up my own cross in the process.
