what is the difference of christian and disciple?
Christian simply means followers or disciples of Christ. And the people who coined the term Christian are non-Christians.
Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
In this verse, we can see how the term Christian was coined.
The word disciple, however, simply means a learner, pupil, or a student.
Luke 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
So in the general sense, all students are disciples because they are learners. A Christian, on the other hand, is a disciple of Christ.
