Imogen is recovering well after the surgery about 2 weeks ago where her neurosurg removed a lot of the cGBM brain tumour next to her brain stem. Her oncologist has now put a plan together and she will start a new type of chemo tomorrow in the hope that it will shrink the main tumour and the small lesions on her spine. It will be given via nasogastric tube at home. We are praying for her around the clock that the treatment works. Her doctors and medical scientists working on her case are amazing. They will also look at whether the tumour has developed any new targetable gene fusions over the last year which may open new treatment options. We are so grateful to her whole medical team.
We have just gone into lockdown where we live again due to some Covid cases locally. This means that her sisters all at home doing school online and enjoying spending time with her too.

Imogen is currently receiving the new chemo treatment daily at home. She has been handling it well so far. She has been sleeping soundly most nights and is very active especially when playing with her sisters. She has been recovering steadily after the brain surgery a few weeks ago, and the wound at the back of her head has been healing without infection (praise God). We are praying around the clock that the treatment successfully eliminates the cancer.
She has been working on her commando crawling and standing up.

Imogen started her new chemo protocol a few days ago and we believe she’s been feeling a bit off since then. She’s vomited a couple of times, like at dinner time last night. When I came in to put on her night feed via the NG tube, I found that there was no tube! She had somehow pulled it out in her sleep. After consulting with her medical team over the phone, and taking her blood glucose levels (which were low), they asked us to bring her in tonight rather than wait for the morning. Brad made the midnight hospital dash with Imogen and she’s home again now with a new NG tube in situ. So it’s been a long night for Imogen and Brad and I (while our other kids were asleep). Time to try and catch some sleep before the girls are all up bright and early for online school in the morning
Please keep praying for Imogen! She is fighting hard to beat the cancer and she needs a miracle.

Cuddles with the biggest and littlest sisters.
Since Imogen’s brain surgery 4 weeks ago, she has been rather ‘clingy’, wanting to be held by her mum Christie as often as possible (but she also enjoys cuddles with her sisters and dad too). Her other sisters went through this at a similar age, so it’s good to hear Imogen vocalizing that she wants to be picked up when her mum walks in the room too.
Although she has some vomiting with the new chemo protocol, Imogen is handling the treatment much better than the chemo that she was on last year.
We are earnestly praying that this new chemo protocol works and successfully eliminates the brain cancer.

Please pray for Imogen. We are asking God to heal her of GBM cancer. She is about to start a new round of chemo in a few days.
We are also praying that the PRISM study will identify a targetable gene mutation or fusion in the cancer, which they doctors can use to eliminate it. They are currently analyzing the cancer cells in the lab which they removed from her a month ago in surgery.
We are putting our faith in God to get her through.
It has been wonderful to see Imogen commando crawling around the house, and developing her strength each day. Her sisters need to be careful what toys they leave laying around as she is getting into everything!

Please pray for Imogen to be cured of cancer. She is half way through the second round of the new chemo protocol. We are praying that God heals her of cancer. We are also praying that the lab tests they are doing as part of the PRISM Study produce some useful results that identify a targetable gene fusion or mutation in the cancer cells. Hopefully these results may come back soon.
Imogen had another ng-tube replacement at the hospital today after the last one cracked and sprung a leak. Her oncology nurses did an awesome job of distracting her while she was having the procedure done. We are so grateful for her medical team. We have a tele-health appointment with her neurosurgeon tomorrow to check how she is tracking.

There was lots of vomiting yesterday afternoon which thankfully stopped before dinner time. A mountain of washing. Christie is administering the chemo orally again through her ng-tube now. There are two types which she receives one hour apart. Please pray there is no vomiting today and that the treatment works.

In less than 12 hours little Imogen will be having an MRI scan of her head and spine. We are desperately praying that there is no progression of the cancer, and that this new chemo protocol has been working.
We are also praying for the PRISM study to identify new curative targeted treatments from the lab studies they are doing on the fresh cancer cells from the biopsy taken 2 months ago.
To our eyes Imogen has been doing really well. She has made great advancements in her gross motor skills, and has also been improving in her speech, coordination and personality development. Because this type of chemo has not been making her neutrophil count hit rock bottom, she has been able to use her commando crawling skills to explore every room of the house (which she loves doing).
Each night we scour them internet for new journal articles on things which may combat recurrent congenital Glioblastoma Multiforme. We try not to be discouraged by the lack of studies in this area and wish there was more funding devoted to research into childhood cancer.
So on the eve of another scan, we ask that you might remember Imogen in your prayers. We are putting our faith in God who cares. We are so grateful for her awesome medical team who are working so hard for her.

Imogen has been on chemo for 684 days. As I think back to the time of her first diagnosis on Christmas Eve 2019 when Christie and I were in PICU with her, I remember some advice from a friend of mine who had a child who underwent chemo for cancer and survived. She said, “Don’t ask God why this has happened. You’ll never get an answer (until heaven). Just pray. Pray. Pray.” It is bitter-sweet that praying for Imogen to be healed of cancer is all I can do. I feel frustrated as a father that I can’t fix the situation myself, but it gives me great comfort and hope in praying to God - who is bigger and stronger.
Imogen is now 23 months old. We have been grateful for every day with her. She is in active treatment at the moment at home. Christie is her full time care-giver. I am back at work full time. We continue to pray non-stop that God eliminates the Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4 cancer in her brain and spine. I’m putting my faith in Him that he will cure her of this disease.

Grateful for a good report from Imogen’s ophthalmologist a few days ago. Christie has been doing special eye exercises with her (eye patching for a few hours at a time) to help correct the issue of a dominant/non-dominant eye. This is helping them allign better. Her eye doctor said that there has been great improvement since her last visit, and he was very happy with her progress. Praise God.
Imogen has a few medical appointments this week before the next round of chemo begins.

Imogen is starting the 6th round of the new type of chemo right now. Christie is administering it to her orally this morning at home. Please pray that she is cured of cancer, Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade 4. She had a blood test and check up a few days ago and her doctors said that she was ready to go ahead with the next round.
God is faithful.
This last week, Imogen has been pulling herself up on furniture to standing position, but has not yet learnt how to get herself down again. She has been having a few bumps and bruises along the way, and we need to watch her all the time as she is constantly wanting to practice pulling up on anything she can reach.
Imogen turns two years old in about two weeks’ time. Two years of miracles and love.

Imogen has just been scheduled to have an MRI on Wednesday morning (Aust time). When the hospital called today, they said that she is lucky to get a scan before Christmas as they are so busy, and she will probably be first or second on the list.
It has been 9 weeks since her last MRI.
Please pray that we get good results with no evidence of cancer progression. She is looking good to our eye, with no particular thing that would make us concerned. If fact, she has been catching up on her milestones in leaps and bounds.
Imogen turns 2 years old on Saturday. Praise God. Her life has been one miracle after another and we are so grateful for her.
